Here’s a follow-up thought regarding my dialogue witha Hyde parent about Brother’ keeper:

It’s important to differentiate between Brother’s Keeper, the universal concept (“We help other’s achieve their best.”) and Brother’s Keeper, the disciplinary process as practiced at the Hyde boarding schools. The ultimate goal is to graduate kids who will grow into adults who recognize that they will never achieve their best without the help of others and that they should not expect to achieve it if they are unwilling to help others do the same. (It’s a 2-way street.) The rest is just details.
