If he lived today, I bet Johnny Appleseed would get the 3rd Degree from the Measurement Police: “Excuse me, Johnny, but not only is your geographical distribution weak, your Empire to McIntosh ratio is all wrong.”

I’ve grown weary of the notion that any and all efforts intended to improve the human condition must be fed thru some tabulated collection of data before they can be accorded a particular degree of worth (or lack thereof).

Some “experts” call AA a cult. Some say it’s not as effective as commonly thought. I say, if you have a loved one struggling with substance abuse, you do what you can to get him/her to at least check out AA. It’s full of people trying to do a good thing for others. Sometimes that’s the only data we need.
