John Rigney (Hyde-Woodstock Asst. Head) sent me this gem. It’s the recruiting message put out by Antarctic explorer Ernest Sheckleton (1874-1922) for one of his expeditions.
“MEN WANTED FOR HAZARDOUS JOURNEY. SMALL WAGES, BITTER COLD, LONG MONTHS OF COMPLETE DARKNESS, CONSTANT DANGER. SAFE RETURN DOUBTFUL. HONOR AND RECOGNITION IN CASE OF SUCCESS.”
